Resolving Local Conflicts Training

SGPP staff have conducted a number of trainings on managing public conflicts at the local level. These trainings vary from 2 hours to 3 day intensive workshops. The focus is on building skills and tools to manage cross-institutional, public-private-non-profit issues the conflict history or the potential for conflict escalation makes resolution difficult. Simulations and role playing on hypothetical, yet relevant  cases are used to engaged participants from local governments, community organizations and non-profits, businesses, and neighborhood associations.

Civil Discourse Facilitation Training

Next Generation    The National Institute for Civil Discourse has initiated a project entitled Next Generation  that prepares and coordinates a network of state legislators committed to cultivating civil discourse in statehouses across the country. Teams of  trained legislators are leading workshops with their peers to explore how they can work together more constructively across party lines in their own states.
